Waves are created when wind from distant storms blows across the surface off the ocean.  These swells travel across oceans to break on our shores.  These weather patterns are affected by the seasons and each geographic location around the world has and optimal time of the year to surf there.  By heading in a westerly direction from the United States the best surfing seasons of Australia, Indonesia, Europe and beyond happen to coincide in that order.  This website is an attempt to document my journey as I surf and travel around the world.
